Everything started off great with Byblos:
The opening night was smooth, we launched the festival with Lang Lang. The team seems to be synchronized. Everyone does their job, and even take initiative to help out on the obvious tasks.
What’s amazing is watching and hearing 70 musicians tuning all at once: complete chaos right before they all play to one tune, one note… wow.
Finished at the beginning of this summer the last batch of kids’ illustrations for Eduvation.
But to continue in the design line of work, I can finally reveal what I’ve been working on for a few months, with a team of young dedicated partners.
We have launched the first surprise with torment, stress, fights, but also fun, love and dedication… it’s finally out: RUBIK.
The work could be hard and…
Last week I got a call from my old boss, JC, to work on Byblos Festival’s production again with the Buzz team. And of course, I can’t turn that down. The team is nice and the line up is amazing: Beirut, Massive Attack, Stromae, Lang Lang, Yanni (coming back this year – one of the coolest crews I worked with, so can’t wait to see them again), Epica, Marcel Khalifé, Mulatu Astatke, Ibrahim Maalouf…
Being a freelancer means choosing the projects you work on, the hours you work on, the remuneration you work for and the style you work in.
Apart from the nightlife, nature and the NGO projects I’m doing, I am mostly an illustrator.
I’ve taken a new deal on: School books (and Ipad applications, let’s face it… it’s 2014).
So, social studies, french and english stories and a whole lot for…
Well, I got 10 DJs to volunteer for our 2nd year anniversary at B018: we’ll be starting off to tunes of RnB and commercial music (Serge, MAK, Ray and Rawad N), transitioning to beats of tech house and techno later into the night (Stamina, Technophile, Hampy & Mak and Ralph and Hicham)
The funds raised from this night will go directly into our summer project funding: we have something big coming…
Cool news for this friday: Slow Train will be playing at LOFT 21.
Don’t miss them! They prepared a set of originals and awesome covers.
I got another artist to work with: Chris Thomas. Don’t really know how to describe to you his voice in words, so you can check it out for yourselves on here with a Ganja babe cover or on here with a mashup of No Diggity and Colt 45. He’s also got some originals…
I’ve been working with Slow Train for a while now.
Their technique is flawless, their energy on stage is amazing.
They just released an original “Feeling Alright” on Soundcloud. Check it out, you might like it. If so, they have a gig coming up next month: April 4th at LOFT 21 in Hamra.
Apart from that, I’ve been working this past week on illustrations for Nike’s Magista Shoe through JK58…
February was full: I Am Not Naked launch, Absolut’s Transform Today, 4 a Cause‘s year program, a second try of my summer secret project, and a finalization of team on my second soon-to-be-revealed project.
We chose to let the IANN platform be one of awareness, instead of killing it. And we went on with the “I Am Not A Weapon” campaign: it shows a series of objects that were used or could’ve been…
